We stand with Roma and Egyptian women — as partners, not bystanders.
Founded in Tirana in September 2012, Roma Women Rights Center (Qendra për të Drejtat e Gruas Rome) works alongside Roma and Egyptian women and girls across Albania to advance their rights, safety and independence.
A frontline organisation, built by and for the community it serves.
Roma Women Rights Center is a non-governmental organisation advancing the rights, dignity, equality and empowerment of Roma and Egyptian women and girls in Albania. Its staff bring many years of prior experience defending the rights of Roma and Egyptian communities.
Our work reaches communities in Tiranë, Durrës, Berat, Elbasan, Korçë, Fier and Shkodër — focusing on the Roma and Egyptian women and girls most affected by discrimination, violence and exclusion, and on the institutions and community structures around them.
Roma Women Rights Center advances gender equality and social justice by empowering Roma and Egyptian women and girls through prevention, protection, access to justice, economic empowerment, leadership development, advocacy and strategic partnerships. We work to ensure that every woman can exercise her rights, access quality services, and live with dignity, safety and opportunity.
We envision a society where Roma and Egyptian women and girls enjoy equal rights, equal opportunities and equal representation — living free from violence and discrimination, participating fully in public life, and shaping the future of their communities.
Six pillars, one mission.
Prevention
Violence against women is preventable. At RWRC, we work to address the underlying causes of gender-based violence by promoting gender equality, human rights, and respectful relationships within families and communities.

Every survivor deserves to be heard, believed, and supported.
Learn more →Access to Justice
Access to justice is a fundamental human right. Yet many Roma and Egyptian women continue to face discrimination, institutional barriers, and limited access to legal protection.
Learn more →Economic Empowerment
Economic independence is one of the strongest foundations for women's empowerment and protection from violence.
Learn more →Women’s Leadership & Participation
Sustainable change happens when women participate equally in the decisions that shape their lives.
Learn more →Human Rights & Social Inclusion
Human rights are the foundation of everything we do.
